Soul Food: The Nourishing Power of Music and Word

Soul Food is a benefit concert for Community Lunch on Capitol Hill.  It will be produced by Tim Coghill, a member of All Pilgrims Christian Church, with support from The Institute for Social Change through the Arts.

Community Lunch on Capitol Hill, the sole beneficiary of the event, operates on a limited budget and serves hot meals to approximately 125 individuals on Thursday evenings at APCC. Additionally, CLCH also serves 250–300 lunch meals twice weekly (Tuesday and Friday lunches) at Central Lutheran Church. In 2013, 40,000 meals were served to members of the Capitol Hill and broader Seattle communities.

The vision for this event is rooted in the belief that music and words provide individuals with the spiritual nourishment and inspiration required to continue moving forward when faced with adversity. The concert will feature performers and the music or spoken word pieces that give them strength.

Please join us on November 23rd at 6pm. There is a $15 suggested donation at the door.
